My Dad’s people are from Western North Carolina, and my Mom’s people are from Salt Lake City, Utah. I’ve been attracted to the mountains and or wilderness for as long as I can remember. I hope to convey not only the peace that one can find outdoors—but also the energy that one can get from a good hike. There is also the excitement that one might see wildlife—which I enjoy above all.
John Swofford is forty-six years old and has a relatively large body of work. His self-published books include a book of sonnets: The Infidel (2024) and two book length rhyming poems: The Absent Lover (2023) and The People of Eden (2024).
